Avalon by Mindee Arnett

This was a great book, very character driven with good world building. Follows the story of young Jeth Seagrave and his crew of thieves. After being orphaned at the age of 11(now 17 years old) he has had to turn to a life of crime, and is struggling to make enough money to buy his parents old ship back so he can take himself, and his sister, and live a decent life away from the tyranny of the government.
The book mainly revolves around the one last mission he goes on to retrieve a ship holding something very valuable.
This book has some great actions scenes, along with thrilling suspense scenes, there's even a little romance to cover all the basis. While the book is said to be the first in a series, there are no sequels listed yet, and the ending has a nice finished feel to it, no cliffhangers in this one. Although there is definitely room for growth in the story, and many adventures to be had
